All-State Jazz/Show Choir

ABOUT ALL-STATE JAZZ/SHOW:

The All-State Jazz Choir is part of the Arizona All-State Jazz/Show Choir Festival. It consists of two choirs, each made up of 20 high school students selected from the state. Selection is made through an audition process in September which requires a live singing audition. Selected students learn and memorize the performance songs before attending the three day long festival where they will work with a nationally known jazz clinician. Each jazz choir performs five to six numbers in the final performance.

The Arizona All-State Show Choir consists of approximately 48 high school students, 12 per voice part. Selection is made through an audition process which includes the performance of a learned dance, scales and a provided vocal solo. The All State Ensembles learns the choreographed routines over the three day festival and performs their show at the conclusion of the festival weekend. The weekend is filled with hard work, long hours, and a tremendous positive learning and life experience.
