Fee Descriptions
Class Fees – These are district mandated charges used to pay for certain classroom expenses such as the purchase of music.  (A single copy of a song averages $1.60 and each choir performs at least 15 pieces per year.)  Miscellaneous consumable classroom materials are also purchased.

Costume Fees – This fee covers the cost of alterations, purchase of replacement and new costumes and dry-cleaning of all costumes at the end of each year.

AIA Fees -   This is a district mandated charge used to pay audition and entry fees for All-State Show Choir, Regional, Solo and Ensemble, ACDA Large Group, NAU Jazz and Madrigal and All-State Honor Festivals.  In addition this fund covers bus expenses and hotel costs when these festivals require it.  It also covers ACDA, MENC and AMEA membership fees for the teacher.  Finally this fee raises the money for the Chorus Director Addendum.  This year the fee has been increased  to $100.00.  Members of the Beginning Women’s Choir do not have to pay this fee unless they choose to participate in one of the festivals listed above.

NOTE:  All AIA fees, and Costume fees may be paid for with AZ State Tax Credits.  Married couples can donate up to $400, and Single parents can donate up to $300.  Anyone who lives in  Arizona can donate in your child’s name.  You simply fill out a form from the bookstore, get a receipt showing your donation and bring it to the choir room to be recorded in your student’s name.  This money can then be applied to your child’s expenses in choir

Important Policy:
In this choir program we are all equal regardless of economic situation.  No student who performs to the best of his or her ability will be denied the opportunity to participate in an activity because of a lack of personal wealth. However, it is the student’s and parents’ responsibility to communicate directly with the teacher. All requests for financial assistance must be accompanied by a scholarship application form available in the choir office. Students who receive financial assistance are expected to participate in fundraisers.
